Ceanté is excited to join Sunset Singers in their newest girl group sensation, The Starlets!
After getting an early start in the church choir, Ceanté absorbed the musical inflections from greats ranging from Aretha Franklin to Aerosmith. The self-proclaimed “musical gypsy” soon began studying music and acting in high school. An alumna of both Berklee College of Music in Boston and Arizona State University, Ceanté has performed on stages across the world, alongside Grammy and Academy Award winning artists, in numerous musicals, and commanding crowds of thousands as a solo artist.
In her free time, Ceanté is happiest songwriting and recording her own pop-electro-soul music under the pseudonym, Emiko Sylver.
She has a hard time choosing a favorite group from the 50's & 60's! It’s a toss-up between the Supremes and Martha and the Vandellas, as she compares the effortless, yet approachable elegance of Diana Ross and the loose, groovy stylings of Martha Reeves.
Naturally, Ceanté highlights "Heatwave" as her favorite song to perform: "I love that we get to let loose a bit and have some fun, while still being a little cheeky."
